Mod Electronics Guitar Pedals

Long time no see traveler, welcome back. Sorry for the delay in posts, the world has been a crazy place and I’ve been mostly keeping my head down and working on some personal projects and goals and got out of the habit of documenting them here. So let’s try to correct that.

Over the last year during the pandemic one of my goals has been to practice Bass guitar more and inevitably that leads to wanting effects pedals. I thought it would be fun to try and build as many of the guitar pedals as I could myself. I took a look around the web looking for kits to start with before diving into scratch building. I found https://www.modelectronics.com/ pretty early in my search and decided to to order 1 to start, the Thunder Drive Deluxe. I was so impressed with this first kit I soon ordered a few more kits and was equally impressed by both the quality of the components, instructions, and the final products are wonderful pedals.

I love that these were point to point wiring. It was a great introduction into this style of building. I look forward to trying one of their amplifier kits soon with this new skill set. Here are a few pictures of the builds and their final place in my pedal board. The newer kits now come with really slick vinyl stickers but these early ones were either laser etched or came with no markings (which was fine with me).
